Fruit Tree Group

The group takes care of a hundred of fruit trees. Many fruit trees have a lifespan of more than 10 years and were planted by a farmer before the association leased the land. Over the past years, we have had a great harvest of longan, lychee, carambola, guava, dragon fruit, etc! The group launched the “Fruit Tree Adoption Program” in 2019, hoping to invite interested parties to take care of specific fruit trees once a month. The group organizes co-learning session from time to time to learn about fruit tree care and processing.

Asame

Asame, in Chinese, means Three. The Trio, were born and grew up in the modern city of Hong Kong, wanted to re-establish their new lives. Back to the basic, they started from the soil. They wanted to grow their own food, and to learn from the people, from the communities, and from flora and fauna that around them. They chose to start in Namchung, where locates in the outskirt of Hong Kong that near Sha Tau Kok. In support of the then PEACE (Partnership for Eco-agriculture of Earth), Asame started “co-farming” experiment around the Spring and Summer time of 2014.  They learned farming from their neighbor farmers and started growing food that they liked and suitable in the local environment. The harvests are for own consumption and for sharing with friends.
During the farming process, Asame came across various interesting episodes. Out of their wild imaginations, their hand-head-heart came to work and began creating picture books. In 2016, the founding of a Common Rat Snake in their ginger field led to the publishing of “The Snake that likes Ginger”. Since then, the quick appearance of an orange color earthworm, and the disruption of the corn field also led to the creation of “Little Earthworm” and “Who Ate My Corns in the Field?”. We hope that the two illustration books come out in 2023. “

Tour Guide Group

In 2019, PEACE organized the “Nam Chung Community Ecological and Cultural Touring Training Program 2019”, and some graduates participated in the guided tours in Nam Chung.
